UBS underwent a major mechanical infrastructure project at their offices in Lincoln Harbor, for which we provided noise and vibration control design services. The project included the addition of major mechanical equipment—air cooled chillers and cooling towers—on the roof of the existing building.
The location of the rooftop equipment had several potential receptors including persons in the building directly below, occupants of the adjacent Lincoln Harbor building, and Jersey City residents on the cliff overlooking the harbor. Careful review of equipment selections was essential to ensure compliance with NJ State Noise Control Statute. Our involvement continued through the construction process, reviewing equipment submittals to confirm they were consistent with the basis of design, and extended through system commissioning to verify actual noise levels during equipment operation.
