Ice Air engaged our office to evaluate and conduct acoustical testing of their water source heat pumps (WSHP). The combination cooling and heating units provide an efficient, room-by-room source of temperature comfort.
We performed factory visits to measure various sizes of the water source heat pumps for discharge and radiated noise levels. Our team tested a range of sizes of both new equipment and last generation models up to 15,000 BTU. The heating and cooling capabilities were tested at low, medium, and high fan speeds. We also conducted mock-up testing of the units in simulated typical apartment conditions. Our testing and measurements found no significant discrepancies between the noise levels listed by the manufacturer in the Ice Air Catalog and what we measured.
