Hudson Yards is the largest private development project in the world. Located in Manhattan’s Far West Side, the mixed-use project includes commercial, residential, and retail spaces within multiple towers and podiums for a total of more than 12 million SF. There will also be restaurant, hotel, cultural, school, and open public spaces.
Longman Lindsey is providing comprehensive acoustical services for many components of the project, including Tower E and the Retail Podium as well as a peer review of other portions of the development. Our studies address the development’s acoustical challenges, including retail, luxury residential tenant requirements, office space, hotel, and a continuously operating cogeneration power plant. Our acoustical recommendations are providing guidelines to the design team on how to minimize the impact of noise on neighboring buildings through noise mitigation and engineering built into the core, shell, and interior designs. We are continuing to review, comment, and aid the design team through the completion of this spacious and unparalleled project.
